Greetings, Friends of Fur Trade Days!
The Fur Trade Days, Inc. Board of Directors is excited for Fur Trade Days 2019! We have been working hard to make this year’s celebration BIGGER and BETTER. We received your feedback from last year’s festival and used those comments to challenge ourselves to make the upcoming event more inclusive, traditional and FUN! We are moving the Traders’ Market back to the Dawes County Courthouse and are partnering with the Chadron Public Library for entertainment and speakers at the gazebo on Friday and Saturday. Also, we have booked Mac’s Carnival for a larger, positive experience, with more rides and more games available, Thursday through Sunday. Our board is actively soliciting sponsorships from area businesses to provide school-age children with FREE wristbands for the carnival! You can help, too (see below)!
We will again host outstanding live musical acts downtown with a street dance and enclosed open-container area. Judd Hoos will rock Friday night from 9 p.m. -1 a.m., with local favorite The Bar Flies opening at 6 p.m.; Whiskey Bent will take stage Saturday night from 9 p.m.-1 a.m., with the Chadron talent of Blue Street opening at 6 p.m.
In order to make this year the best event possible, one exciting enough to draw out-of-town visitors and thrill our local population, we need your help! Please give thoughtful consideration as to how you can contribute to help continue and grow the fantastic tradition of Fur Trade Days. Visit our re-designed and user-friendly website for the Traders’ Market vendor application. A preliminary schedule of events will be available online May 15, 2019.
